American chestnut dates back to the 1800s. It’s name “wormy chestnut” comes from the beetle that bored into the deadwood, finding it a great source of nutrition. The trees were so strong that they remained standing even after the blight, and the wood was still harvested to build many homes and barns here in the USA. This floor gives a clean rustic look, full of history and character. Each one is made to order and one of a kind. Milled from reclaimed wood sourced right here in the USA, kiln dried and ready to ship.
